The Beginning Of Mesothelioma Story
In December 1999 my husband and I were walking home from a bowling game , when I saw her shortness of breath . I was surprised and concerned when he told me that he had experienced this . Repeatedly believe that this is caused by a chest infection , I made an appointment with her doctor for the next day .
The chest radiograph showed fluid in the lungs , over two liters of filtered , causing direct assistance to Brian , but it was a tense wait for the pathology results . During our marriage , my deep love for Brian and my determination to solve the difficulties of life are visible . We had many trials to believe that nothing can be done to save his life , struggles and start surfing the Internet for information regarding mesothelioma , all the time praying for a miracle , hoping to find that he had operated successful doctor or cure someone of this .
Brian was sad to find that there was no miracle , but I learned a lot and helped me to accept that he was dying . With my acceptance came hard determination to ease his burden . So I came to understand the importance of treating pain and symptoms , and I realized that even if I could not stop Brian from dying - I could help her live .

I had the opportunity to work closely with their doctor to give pain and symptoms under control . As my efforts have resulted in improvements in quality of life , lost my sense of helplessness and gained strength .
In summary , we achieved for Brian , quality of life few thought possible , given the nature of his illness . This evidence , though his 3-9 month estimate , Brian survived for 2 years , he remained active and alert , drove his car for eighteen months after diagnosis and was not confined to bed for three days before his death .
Brian courageous battle with mesothelioma ended on December 24, 2001 , died at home surrounded by family . He is 54 years old .
